UWE HIMMELREICH (PhD) is the head of the Biomedical NMR unit and leads the management group of the Molecular Small Animal Imaging Center (MoSAIC) at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. He is associated professor at the Division of Radiology. He received a PhD in 1994 at the University of Leipzig (Germany). He has more than 20 years experience in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. His recent research interest includes molecular imaging, cell labeling and in vivo tracking by MRI and small animal MR imaging and spectroscopy. He has expertise in the development and evaluation of responsive contrast agents, applications of multimodal imaging and characterization of disease models in small animals. Methodological developments include the optimization of cell visualization procedures, functional MRI, PWI, DWI, MR angiography, heteronuclear (13C, 19F and 31P) NMR spectroscopy and MR imaging.

TOM DRESSELAERS has received his PhD at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. He is a senior scientist in the Biomedical NMR unit. He is responsible for the management of the small animal MRI scanner, the implementation and development of new MRI/ NMR protocols and oversees ongoing research projects. His scientific interest is focused on the development of in vivo and ex vivo 19F, 31P and 13C MRI and NMR spectroscopy protocols.

ANN VAN SANTVOORT works as a technical assistant in the Molecular Small Animal Imaging Facility at K.U. Leuven. She is responsible for the performance and monitoring of small animal imaging experiments. Apart from animal handling, monitoring and surgery, she is experienced in Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Positron Emission Tomography and Bioluminescence experiments.
